Daily Tadalafil
Tadalafil is available under the brand name Cialis, as well as generic forms. The generic versions of Tadalafil are approved by regulatory authorities and contain the same active ingredient as the brand name medication.
While Tadalafil maybe taken on demand, one to two hours before sexual activity for best results, its effect may last up to 36 hours and we are prescribing it for use on a daily basis.
Low-dose Tadalafil may be used on a daily basis if sexual activity is persistent or less predictable.
It is best taken in evening or at nighttime. After 5 days of taking the medication, you should have steady state levels of the medication in bloodstream.
Like any medication, Tadalafil can have potential side effects. Potential side effects include: headache, flushing, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, and nasal congestion. Tadalafil may interact with certain medications, including nitrates, alpha-blockers, and certain antifungal or antibiotic medications. It is important to inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.
Although rare, priapism may be another side effect. If you have persistent erection beyond 4 hours, report to Emergency Room.
Tadalafil is contraindicated in individuals who are taking nitrates or nitric oxide donors due to the potential for severe hypotension (low blood pressure). It should also be avoided in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Tadalafil or any of its components.
Side Effects
Like any medication, Tadalafil can have potential side effects. These may include: headache, facial flushing, hot flushes, indigestion, nausea, muscle aches, and nasal congestion. Rare side effect includes sudden loss of vision, problems with your hearing, prolonged or painful erections that lasts for more than 2 hours. If you experience this, seek medical attention.Â
Dosing Instructions
This is being prescribed as a daily medication. It is recommended that you take one tablet in the evening or nighttime daily as prescribed.
Relatively low doses can help with sustaining early morning and nocturnal erections, as well as improving performance at anytime during the day or at nighttime.
